"Compte-rendu : Eblouissante rencontre – 15e Festival Musicalta de Rouffach Ouverture en beauté avec une soirée confiée au Fine Arts Quartet ! Née en 1946, la formation américaine en est aujourd’hui à sa deuxième génération de membres mais demeure fidèle à une réputation fondée sur une complicité exemplaire et un raffinement sonore peu commun. Quatuor op. 77 n°1 de Haydn : une vieille connaissance à l’évidence pour des instrumentistes qui retrouvent l’ouvrage avec bonheur et impatience, comme on le ferait
avec un vieil et cher ami. Vitalité, alacrité, lyrisme, tendresse : toutes les facettes de l’art d’un Haydn parvenu presque au terme de sa production de quatuors resplendissent et la fermeté de trait – sans rien de sec ou d’excessivement tendu – avec laquelle l’étonnant Menuetto est mené force l’admiration....Elle joue en revanche complètement en faveur de Compagny de Phil Glass où la simplicité et la merveilleuse fluidité des interprètes produit un résultat très hypnotique, d’une envoûtante poésie. La vie d’un festival est faite d’imprévus et l’annulation de Frédéric Aguessy a conduit les organisateurs à le remplacer par Jean-Frédéric Neuburger dans le Quintette op. 44 de Schumann. Première rencontre du Fine Arts Quartet et du jeune pianiste, une seule répétition trois heures avant le concert : on a du mal à croire que les choses se sont ainsi déroulées après avoir savouré une interprétation dénuée du moindre flottement, construite, solidement appuyée sur le jeu d’un pianiste à l’écoute, toujours engagé mais jamais envahissant. Chapeau! Et mention particulière pour le In modo d’una marcia où cinq musiciens ne faisant qu’un renoncent à tout pathos au profit d’une dimension fantastique affirmée (magnifique Agitato !). Eblouissante rencontre que ce Schumann - et sacrée leçon de musique de chambre!"

"Last weekend, the latter venue [the National Gallery of Art]...hosted an exquisite concert by the Fine Arts Quartet in front of a full house...The Fine Arts Quartet’s gentle use of vibrato and carefully synchronized bow control was well suited to the wet acoustic of the West Garden Court.
